Re: How Do You Like Me Now

One of my favorite types of blog post that Stephen Brown posts are from his "How Do You Like Me Now" series which you can check out here.

This series is a really cool concept that piggy-backs off of a review. In these reviews, Dr. Brown reviews pens that he has already done reviews on. The key is to get to really know the pen in between the two reviews. The point of the second review is to point out new things about the pen that one would only notice after using the pen for a while. This may sound redundant, but I see it as a good way to see the characters that pens can develop over time. Or perhaps you just discovered something after the initial review that you found interesting or important and deserves a new review in order to cover this new discovery.

One of the best parts of the review is to hear how the pen has changed in the owner's eyes. Is a pen more solid than it appeared at first? Does it write in a unique way that you have found in no other pen? These are only questions you can answer after spending quality time with your pen.

This type of review can be coupled with an initial look review (a review done right after receiving a pen) to really get a sense of a pen before buying it for yourself. This could really help out people who do not have the advantage of trying fountain pens in person before purchasing. I would like to say thank you to Dr. Brown for providing these reviews for the community and for having such a positive impact.
